Attorney

a little bit about me

I was born and raised in north Georgia where I learned the importance of hospitality and sweet tea. Growing up, I valued team sports and participation trophies with parents who cheered when I sat on the bench for soccer or barely finished the cross-country race. I practice law with similar perseverance and humility, though my success rate has improved.

I was elected Student Government Association President before graduating with honors from Wesleyan College with a double major in Political Science and Women’s Studies. I continued my commitment to volunteer work as a sexual assault hospital response advocate with Crisis Line & Safe House of Central Georgia. I then moved from the South to the Cowboy State and graduated from the University of Wyoming College of Law.

In Wyoming, I represented victims of domestic violence, sexual violence, and stalking in family law matters at the non-profit organizations Legal Aid of Wyoming, and Wyoming Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. As a trauma-informed attorney, I effectively communicate a client’s emotional experience into persuasive legal arguments without stigmatizing or demonizing a party, particularly when coercive control, substance abuse, or unmitigated mental health concerns impact the co-parenting relationship and parenting.

My values of accessibility and compassion guide my commitment to community engagement, including conducting free legal advice clinics on Wind River Indian Reservation. Additionally, I participated in several free legal outreach events, including Orders of Protection, Wills, Advanced Healthcare Directives, and Criminal Expungements.

I moved from Wyoming to Arizona where I worked at two local family law firms, furthering my knowledge and skills to resolve complex issues of property division and spousal maintenance for high-income families with substantial financial assets.

Because family law relies heavily on the facts of a case, I am passionate about building trust and open communication with clients to litigate successfully and to meet the client’s goals effectively. I prioritize creating a safe place for you to ask questions, to share concerns, and to openly speak your truth without judgement. I will meet you at your level of understanding, at your place in the healing journey.

I look forward to connecting with you to discuss ways to resolve your family’s legal needs. I think we will make a good team.

In my natural habitat, you can find me drinking coffee, reading my daily horoscope, watching “Friends” re-runs, connecting with nature, and spending time with my wife.

my first priority

The only way I can start building a case plan around your family’s future is by understanding what you want. I listen more than I talk. I do this because I want to know your fears, your desires and your dreams. I want to see those dreams come true.

it is what it is

I won’t lie to you just to tell you what I think you want to hear. I will tell you when I think you are being reasonable. And, I will tell you when I think you are being unreasonable, too. Part of my job is to not set you up for failure, and this sometimes involves sharing some hard truths. I only do this to save you from future pain.

the whole truth

Nobody can ever guarantee anything in life. Despite what some might say, lawyers can’t guarantee results or foretell the future. I can give you examples of past experiences I’ve had with cases like yours, but in the end, the only thing I can guarantee is that my team and I will do our very best in your case.
